International Olympiad of Mathematics (iOM) Class 7: syllabus, dates and exam pattern (2026–27)

Two things this list is telling you that a plain chapter dump would not. First, iOM is narrower than SOF IMO on the school syllabus: SilverZone's published Class 7 list does not name large numbers, number play, congruence of triangles, or constructions and tilings, all of which are chapters in the Ganita Prakash book. Second, and more important, it is wider in four places the school book no longer covers — exponents, solid shapes, quadrilaterals, and the area of closed figures (parallelogram and circle). SilverZone names all four; the 2026-27 Class 7 book has moved or dropped all four. Simple interest is a fifth: SilverZone lists it under Ratio and its Applications, but the book's comparing-quantities chapter stops at profit, loss and discount. A child preparing only from the school book will meet those five topics for the first time in the exam hall. Where they have gone is the useful part: four of the five — exponents, solid shapes, quadrilaterals and simple interest — are Class 8 chapters in the 2026-27 spine, so SilverZone is asking a Class 7 child questions from next year's book. Only the area of closed figures has left the spine altogether, and that one our Class 7 maths practice keeps in scope as an olympiad-scope topic. Separately, the Reasoning and Aptitude section (10 questions, 30 of the 100 marks) is its own spine — verbal and non-verbal reasoning, not drawn from the maths chapters at all.
